Our Story

Northside Jiu Jitsu was founded in Collinsville, Oklahoma in 2017.
Owner and head coach Cole Cantrell was one of the original students and stepped in to teach the kids class in 2018—quickly developing a passion for coaching and a deeper understanding of Jiu Jitsu through teaching.
Through consistency and dedication, he helped build the kids program into a strong, structured foundation where students could truly learn, grow, and gain confidence.
In 2022, when Northside was at risk of shutting its doors, Cole and his wife Gina stepped in to take ownership—determined to preserve the community and relationships that had been built.
Since then, Northside has continued to grow, moving into a larger, cleaner facility and expanding into multiple structured programs to better serve every student.
What has kept so many students here isn’t just the training—it’s the culture.
A room where people push each other, support each other, and train without ego.
Where kids are held to a higher standard.
Where adults work hard and improve.
Where progress is earned.
That’s what Northside is known for.
